The newest board game at our house is Labyrinth, a birthday gift for my daughter from a serious board game playing family. It came with the explanation that it was a game that was fun for kids and adults too (aka - not mind-numbingly repetitive & simple) and they weren't lying.
Qwirkle
Kind of like Scrabble without the letters, Qwirkle involves creating lines of matching colours and symbols. Simple enough for little guys to play but challenging enough for adults to play after the kids have gone to bed, this one was an instant hit in our house. The travel version is easy to take anywhere too.
Uno
What kid doesn't love Uno? So much learning, disguised as family fun!
